TINY DANCERS 1
This class is designed to teach children creative movement and the basics of Ballet while learning how to be in a classroom environment.
TINY DANCERS 2 & 3
Class will consist of Ballet, Jazz and Tap. These classes will further expand your child’s dance vocabulary while enhancing their motor skills and creativity.
JAZZ
Jazz is an upbeat dance form that consists of using isolations of the body to explore personal movement and expression. Students will learn coordination and increase their flexibility.
TAP
Tap dance helps the student understand rhythm and sound by using their feet to guide them. Dancers will learn tempo and how to properly count music. They will also grasp how to work within a group as it is important to learn to tap “as one”.
LYRICAL
Lyrical consists of Ballet and Jazz elements while focusing on the lyrical content of music to express emotion. A range of leaps and turns will be taught to increase strength and flexibility. Together these elements will help broaden the students mind about how to be creative and expressive.
BALLET
Ballet is a classic form of dance which teaches poise and precision. Students will be taught proper technique. Body alignment, turn out, flexibility, and harmony of movement are key factors in improving ones skills. Ballet lays the foundation needed for all dance genres, which is why it is mandatory for all competition students and highly recommended for all dancers.
MODERN
Modern dance was essentially created to reject the limitations of classical ballet. By using ones “center” the student will learn to dance from a more grounded place. The focus will be on the dancer’s quality of movement, breathing patterns, and learning how to contract and release. Strengthening the body and one’s musicality are important factors in mastering modern dance.
HIP HOP
Hip-Hop is an energetic style of dance that is set to R&B and rap music. It uses a wide range of styles that include breaking, locking, popping and freestyle movement. Dancers will find their own sense of style and innovation.
TUMBLING
Tumbling is a combination of acrobatics and gymnastics. It consists of floor tricks (cartwheels, round offs, backbends…etc) It focuses on building muscle, strength and flexibility. Students will incorporate these moves into a recital dance.
MUSICAL THEATER
Musical theatre combines dance with songs, spoken dialogue, and acting. Students will participate in different acting exercises & skits, while working on facial expressions - all while dancing! A broad range of Broadway songs will be used and taught weekly.
